Junk Drunk

Living Room Make-Over!

Last weekend Mom and Dad came for a visit.  It took Her about five minutes after walking in the door to grab a pen and paper and start making a list of the things we had to do and the furnishings we had to find.  After an unsuccessful trip to a couple of "big-box stores" we decided to go treasure hunting - antiquing instead.  JACKPOT!  After spending three hours in one of the best antique store in Grand Rapids, we resurfaced with everything I needed to pull the room together, and we were officially what the dealers call "junk drunk."
We found an old print cabinet to use as a TV stand.  Mom suggested taking a few of the more rough looking drawers out and replacing them with books and collectibles (great idea!).  We scored a 70's inspired patten leather ottoman in off white.  It's the perfect height to make the new couch even more user friendly.  An old woman's hat suitcase pulls together the blue, brown and green accent colors and the white drink tray brings a necessary pop of white to the room.  The icing on the cake, the two wall sconces we found as a totally unexpected gem.  They literally make the room sparkle.

Thanks Mom for a GREAT weekend.
